There are laundry rooms in most U.S. apartments. Most of those machines are set as coin slot machines. It's just like the laundry rooms in most of Taiwan's campus dormitories. In Europe, however, the situation is very different. Almost every household has their own washing machines. It is not common to find laundry rooms in apartment buildings. So for people who don't have washing machines, they have to wash it by hands or visit a self-service laundry shop.
在美國的公寓，多數都附有洗衣間，裡頭有採投幣式的洗烘衣機，就跟台灣多數學校宿舍一樣。然而在歐洲，比較沒有這種習慣，所以家家戶戶幾乎都有自己的洗衣機。(德國BOSCH就是個有名的牌子) 沒有洗衣設備的只好手洗，或去社區附近的自助洗衣店處理。(台灣也有很多自助洗衣店)
